St Hilda’s Junior School focuses on the development of the whole child; encouraging and guiding students to achieve their personal best, in an environment that is focused on learning, is inclusive and caters for each student to reach their potential.
The purpose of the Junior School is to inspire each girl to be the very best person she can be. To achieve this goal, the St Hilda’s Junior School focuses on the development of the whole child; encouraging and guiding students to achieve their personal best, in an environment that is focused on learning, is inclusive and caters for each student to reach their potential.
Our broad curriculum adheres to the Australian Curriculum requirements and provides opportunities to discover what motivates and inspires each and every girl. The rigorous academic program is complemented by the development of personal and wellbeing character skills including resilience, taking responsible risks in learning and engaging metacognition to assist each girl to gain an understanding of themselves as a learner and as a person.
Staff work collaboratively with each student to set learning goals, identify their most effective methods of learning and to educate each girl as to how to measure their own growth.
Anglican traditions, our School motto, Non Nobis Solum – Not for Ourselves Alone, and our values of Love, Compassion, Forgiveness, Hope and Grace are interwoven into all aspects of School life and relationships within the Junior School community. The Student Representative Council provide a strong student voice in the Junior School and ensure the girls give to others through their wide range of student-led initiatives. Our school community and our families are caring, friendly and engaged in the education of the girls.
We encourage our families to be an active and vital partner in their daughter’s education. The Junior School is a warm and inclusive environment where every girl is valued and recognised. I look forward to discussing with you the many dimensions of the St Hilda’s School environment.

Junior School Representative Council
It acts as a vital channel of communication within the Junior School and provides a platform for students’ views, opinions and ideas to be heard, discussed and acted upon. Comprised of three Year 6 leaders and representatives from Years 3 to 6, the Student Council works as a team to support all students of the Junior School.
The Student Council meets every fortnight. Guided by the leaders and their representatives, discussion centres on student ideas, improvements, current issues, upcoming events or future initiatives.
The Junior School Student Council has contributed to the development of many projects throughout the Junior School campus including the new Years 4 to 6 playground and the Fairy Garden.
The Student Council also proudly supports and raises funds for many charities and associations including the Surfers Paradise Anglican Crisis Centre and others such as natural disaster relief campaigns, as guided by the students.
