Overview
Excellence in Sport is recognised by this scholarship. The student must be able to demonstrate a history of excellence in sport and sustained academic endeavour. These scholarships are available for students entering Years 7 and 10.
The Scholarship provides part remission of tuition fees, for the successful recipients.
Eligibility
Please note that Sporting Scholarships are awarded on the basis of a student’s attainment of state and national level in a Queensland Girls Secondary School Sporting Association (QGSSSA) and Brisbane Schoolgirls Rowing Association (BSRA) sports where St Hilda’s School participates. Eligible sports include:
- Tennis
- Basketball
- Football (Soccer)
- Touch Football
- Netball
- Volleyball
- Cricket
- AFL
- Badminton
- Artistic Gymnastics
- Cross Country
- Athletics
- Rowing
For students to remain eligible for this scholarship, they must train and compete in their field of expertise for St Hilda's School. To be eligible to apply for a sports scholarship, applicants must be competing at a state or national level.
It is expected that all Scholarship and Bursary Recipients will maintain a high level of achievement relevant to their Scholarship or Bursary and will consistently contribute and display commitment to St Hilda’s School life.
This encompasses regular attendance at training sessions/lessons and participating in relevant events as well as consistently representing self and school with honour and pride.
Supporting Documentation
Please submit the following supporting documentation* to [email protected] in addition to the online enrolment application form (if required).
- Daughter’s last two (2) school reports (translated into English and certified as a true and correct copy if necessary)
- Daughter’s most recent NAPLAN results
- A hand-written letter by your daughter to the St Hilda’s School Principal introducing herself and indicating how she will contribute positively to the St Hilda’s School community
- One relevant reference, one page in length from a teacher, coach or relevant professional. Referees should not be a member of the applicant’s family
- Curriculum Vitae of the candidate’s sport/s and performance/achievement levels over the past two years
- A list of representation at State and National levels
- Information about participation in special sports or coaching programs

Complete the EduTest Scholarship Registration Application by the scholarship application closing date. 2026 applications are open from 12 November 2024 and will close on 14 February 2025.

Submit supporting documentation to [email protected]. Supporting documentation must be submitted in a single PDF format.
Step 3
Sit the Scholarship testing and Music Auditions (if applicable). Results from the Scholarship testing provide comparable results for new and current students. Historically, scholarship interviews have been offered to students who achieve at an exemplary level in the Edutest. The invitation to attend a scholarship interview does not guarantee a scholarship offer. Candidates will be contacted by April with the outcome of their scholarship application.
Shortlisted students who are invited to attend an interview will be required to complete the St Hilda’s School Enrolment Application.
