The native climber is a fascinating plant because their berries are edible and our indigenous people like to eat them.

They are not poisonous and are a member of the pea family.

Native climbers provide bright, outstanding colours. The gorgeous native climber grows berries which are very beautiful. The berries turn from shiny purple to sweet yellow.

Native climbers come in all sorts of amazing colours such as purple, blue, red, yellow and pink.

The native climber can expand to fill a lot of space. In your garden they are incredibly useful because they can fill arches, fences, poles and trellises.

The stems of the native climber can twist and turn so they won’t break.

Native climbers are highly popular and indigenous to the Maroondah, Manigham, and Yarra Ranges. It is a great plant for ground covering which can be useful in a garden.

Native climbers look remarkable in our school garden so they could also look remarkable in your garden too. These plants provide lovely bright colours and they attract all types of butterflies and birds.
