Welcome to the heart of St Hilda's School Yarning Circle. This unique initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous culture and the environment.

The Yarning Circle are the culmination of a couple of year’s work by the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) Committee and the Grounds Team working closely with Director of Operations, Paul Salter, and Kombumerri Traditional Owner/Custodian, Justine Dillon.

A Sacred Space

The Yarning Circle stands as a testament to our respect for Indigenous traditions. Nestled within our school grounds, it is a sacred space designed for storytelling, sharing knowledge, and building connections. This traditional gathering place provides a platform for open dialogue, embracing the spirit of yarning—a practice that transcends generations.

Our Yarning Circle is more than just a physical space; it embodies the cultural significance of Indigenous storytelling. Through yarns and shared experiences, we honour the diversity of Indigenous cultures and create an inclusive environment that promotes unity and understanding among our students.
